Seeking to Grow in Christ Together:

Welcoming, Loving, Serving in Christ’s Name

What to Expect

What time do you gather on Sunday?
9:45 a.m.                    Sunday School for all ages
11:00 a.m.                  Worship

What will the worship service be like?
The heart of our church’s life is worship. At FPC worship is engaging and traditional in style. Sermons are scripturally based. Music is primarily traditional with other music styles incorporated often. Worship lasts about an hour.

What do I wear?
There is no dress code and you will see a little bit of everything here. Most men wear slacks and a shirt; some wear suits. Women wear dresses and pants. You will also see some in jeans.

Is there a nursery?
Yes!  There is a nursery from 9:45 a.m. until the conclusion of worship.

What about children in worship?
Children are always welcome in worship at FPC. Worship bags with Bible activities, worship helps, crayons, and Bible Story books  are available. Each Sunday we have a Word for Children, after which children in first grade and younger have the option of going to childcare.

Will I be asked to stand and give my name?
No.  You can be assured that you will be warmly welcomed but you will not be singled out in front of the congregation.

Can I take communion if I am not a member?
Yes. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is the host at the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.  All who trust him are welcome to the table, wherever you are in your journey of faith. Baptized children   are also welcome. Sometimes the bread and juice is brought to you by servers while you sit in the pew. Other times we come forward and take communion by intinction, breaking off a piece of bread and dipping it in the cup. You will not be left to wonder what to do! It will be explained in the bulletin.

What if I want to become a member?
Great! We look forward to welcoming you into the life and work of this congregation. There are three ways to join the Presbyterian Church:
1) Profession of Faith- for those new to the Christian faith
2) Reaffirmation of Faith- for those who have not been active in a church in the past five years
3) Transfer of Letter from another church.
Speak with Pastor Julie and she will be happy to talk with you about how to become a member here at FPC.
